INVITATION

Over two decades ago the World Health Organization (WHO), the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) launched the joint Out of the Shadows Campaign to shine a light on neglected and hidden needs of people with epilepsy. Demonstration projects, as part of this campaign, provided strong evidence that treatment and knowledge gaps can be addressed.

The virtual roundtable will share, through the voices and experiences of people affected by epilepsy, professionals, and governments supporting them, intersectoral examples of how focusing on epilepsy as an entry point can improve brain health and close treatment, inclusion, and opportunity gaps not only for people with epilepsy but also for those living with other neurological disorders.
The meeting will also provide an open forum to explore aspirations for the decade of action under the Intersectoral Global Action Plan and inspiring targets to achieve by 2031 a world where no person’s life is limited by epilepsy.
