MAKING EPILEPSY A HEALTH PRIORITY IN AFRICA 2022
TRENDSETTER AND SMALL GRANT PROJECTS
The International Bureau for Epilepsy – Africa Region [IBE-AR], with financial support from Band Foundation funded four epilepsy organizations under IBE-AR to be trendsetters on the adoption and domestication of the Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and other Neurological Disorders (IGAP) 2022 – 2031. The four IBE-AR chapters are the Eswatini Epilepsy Organization, Epilepsy South Africa, EDYCS – Mauritius, and KAWE Kenya. Each chapter brings vast experience in epilepsy work and their work will be shared with many other epilepsy chapters across Africa and beyond.
Other chapters that also got funding under the Small Grants are Epilepsy Association of Zambia, FPE Kenya, Malawi Epilepsy Association, and Sierra Leone, who will also work on projects that will serve as a reference for other chapter in Africa and beyond.
